Days One and Two - Heartbeat of Jamaica

Kingston Airport Arrival and Welcome Drinks

We depart at 9:00 a.m. as we begin our exploration of the heartbeat of Jamaica, filled with

history, art and culture. This journey begins with a tour of the city of Kingston which is bordered

by Jamaica’s largest mountain range and is home to the world’s 7 th largest natural habour.

Kingston is rich with entertainment and is home to many thriving educational institutions in

addition to being the business hub of the island. We will also visit two of Jamaica’s old cities

that were vibrant and relevant in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Some of our site

visits will be ‘drive through’ and others will be guided tour excursions. Our guests will get to

experience the city nightlife along with some of the locations we will be visiting, to include:

Water lane Art Walk Tour, Bob Marley Museum, Devon House, Trench Town, the community

where reggae music was birthed, Port Royal- the Sunken City and Spanish Town- the

architectural national treasure of St. Catherine. Near the town’s entrance stands the oldest iron

bridge of its kind in the Western hemisphere. We will have lunch at the restaurant of the fastest

man in the world – Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records….you may spot him doing a post ‘to di world’.

Day 3 - Naturally

We depart at 8:00 a.m. for Portland. Picturesque Portland is located at the far east end of the island. You will journey through the eastern section of Kingston and St. Andrew making your way to the quiet, quaint and intimate rural suburbs of this parish. Take in and enjoy the rejuvenating freshness of the Caribbean breeze and the beautiful view of the mountainous landscape and rivers. Enjoy the beautiful scenic view along the coast of the northeastern side of the island. We will visit Folly Ruins, Blue lagoon, Frenchman’s Cove beach where the James Bond movie was filmed. We move onwards to a local farm that harvests bananas and coconuts. We end the day with a peaceful sail with rafting on the Rio Grande River.

Day 4 - The Centerpiece of Jamaica

Depart at 8:00 a.m. on to the parish of St. Ann for a variety of cultural experiences on the north coast of the island. Driving along the coast and inhaling the Caribbean Sea, making a stop at James Bond beach. It is called James Bond beach because the author Ian Fleming wrote the James Bond novels on the beach. We stop to explore the lovely parish of St. Ann, known as the Garden parish. Did you know that the name Ocho Rios is actually derived from the Spanish “Las Chorreras” meaning “waterfalls”? Yes, that’s what the Spaniards called Ocho Rios and so we will visit green grotto cave then onward to Dunn’s River Falls, one of the world’s best waterfalls, certified by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
