Alpha 101 is an experience designed to share the rich past, present and future of Jamaica’s acclaimed music culture.  Located at 26 South Camp Road since 1880 and training musicians since 1892, Alpha was home to jazz innovators like Blue Note recording artist Dizzy Reece, ska pioneers The Skatalites, reggae icons Leroy ‘Horsemouth Wallace’, Leroy Smart, Johnny Osbourne and 2x Grammy nominee Winston ‘Yellowman’ Foster.

Visitors are welcomed into this unique community called "the birthplace of the reggae sound" by Billboard Magazine and a "dream factory" (BBC) for “legendary musicians” (Jamaica Gleaner) that released “the spirit of one of the most musical islands in the world" (Telegraph/UK). 

Expert guides will escort you through the same grounds Jamaica’s music pioneers and icons called home and lead you through over 100 years of jazz, ska and reggae music history.
